SunCorp 2010 Annual Meeting
SunCorp held its 32nd annual membership meeting on May 25, 2010, in Westminster, Colorado. Chairman Mark Lau, President of Denver Fire Department FCU in Denver, Colorado, presided over the meeting. In attendance were representatives of twenty one member credit unions and credit union service organizations.
At the meeting, three open seats on SunCorp’s Board of Directors were filled by Kimberley Withers, President of Meridian Trust FCU in Cheyenne, Wyoming; Steve Kelly, President and CEO of Metrum Community CU in Centennial, Colorado; and Brad Harvey, President and CEO of Horizons North CU in Northglenn, Colorado.
We thank all the members who attended the meeting this year.
Access Staff Expertise at SunCorp
Earlier this year, we began this series of articles to introduce you to some of the staff at SunCorp. We encourage you to use these experts as resources, and contact them with questions or for advice on the daily operations at your credit union.
Again this month, we feature three more employees who work with credit unions on a daily basis. The names and voices may be familiar, but you have probably never seen them. Here is some background on these three SunCorp experts.
Ron Vail has just started his third year at SunCorp after finishing a long career with the Postal Service. He began as a Member Service Representative concentrating on billing and coin/currency issues, as well as enjoying much of his time on the telephone working with credit unions on many other services. In his new duties as Cash Manager, Ron expects to be handling calls on investment purchases and confirmations, sending investment rate information, and managing SunCorp’s cash flow and liquidity. Krista Newman’s most recent role involves management of SunCorp’s investment portfolio, but she has worked with members in many roles over the five years she has been with SunCorp. Krista began as a wire room operator, assisted credit unions with payment services questions as a Member Service Representative for a couple years, and later moved into the Cash Manager / Capital Markets Associate position in 2008. Regardless of her role at SunCorp, she is always pleased to assist members and resolve issues that confront our credit unions. Krista can be reached at knewman@suncorp.coop.
Sherry Cooper is our Compliance Specialist. In addition to her duties with SunCorp’s BSA and OFAC reporting, she handles much of the user administration for access to our online systems such as SunPower. Sherry also receives calls from credit unions regarding online system access and BSA issues.
