SunCorp Completes Conversion to CorPower

On July 26, 2010 SunCorp successfully completed its conversion and upgrade to the more robust CorPower account management application. Here is a review of the changes.
Enhancements
Along with CorPower came some enhancements that benefit users. CorPower is much easier to navigate than the old SunPower application. This improves efficiency and workflow. CorPower also allows easy access for users with multiple accounts. Additionally, the CorPower home page is configurable and allows users to create a Quicklist and offers an Action Items work list. These features give users one-click access to the pages they use frequently and the items that need immediate attention.
CorPower Users and Administrators
One complementary benefit we have experienced from the CorPower conversion is the updating of member records. Since we converted all existing SunPower users to the new CorPower application, we uncovered some outdated user information that needed correction. This conversion offered a good opportunity for our members to update their user records and correct any outdated information. If you need to update your credit union’s CorPower user information, please log into CorPower to get the new CorPower User Authorization Form and submit it to SunCorp. In this process, we also uncovered some credit unions that didn’t have enough CorPower Security Administrators. We recommend that each member credit union have at least three Security Administrators if possible to handle password resets and dual authorizations for their credit union. Having enough CorPower Administrators will not only save your credit union password reset fees charged by SunCorp, but will also save your staff time and increase efficiency.
Logging into CorPower
Assisting all of our member users to access CorPower for their initial login was a challenging task. The temporary passwords generated are long and often difficult to read - causing some confusion. However, most of our member users were able to log into CorPower without any problem. If you haven’t logged into CorPower yet, then your temporary password and PIN will no longer be active, and you will need to contact a Security Administrator at your credit union or a SunCorp Member Service Representative to have your password and PIN reset.
Funds Transfers
There have also been some changes to funds transfer procedures since the conversion. Utilizing best practices, SunCorp is now requiring dual authorization or approval at your credit union on all Domestic Wires and Western Union Transfers except for recurring wires using pre-authorized templates. Additionally, second verification by a SunCorp MSR is required for all member-to-member transfers. Another change of note to member-to-member transfers is that the transaction is not complete until CorPower shows that it has been “posted”. We recommend you refrain from crediting any accounts until the transfer is in “posted” status.
Wire templates had some additional changes. Wire template numbers are no longer available in CorPower, but wire template descriptions remain for your reference. Also, wire templates require physical addresses for transfers $3,000 or greater. If a wire template is missing an address, users should delete the old template and create a new template with the address included, rather than edit the existing template.
SunCorp thanks you for your support and diligence in attending the online webinars, reading the training materials, and patiently working through the login process. Your efforts along with SunCorp staff preparations ensured smooth operations and a successful conversion.![]()

Stuff for Students - 9News Asked & SunCorp Employees Answered
In August, SunCorp supported 9News and Volunteers of America in their efforts to provide school supplies for over 22 area school districts.
More than 90% of SunCorp’s employees participated. Over a two week period, SunCorp collected backpacks filled with every item 9News needed. Monetary donations were also received.
According to Lynn Baalman, VP Human Resources, Facilities & Security, “We are a small company with a big heart! While we generally have good participation in any type of community or other charitable event that we sponsor, the response level for this event was exceptional!” ![]()
